Hire Better People Faster — book cover

Hire Better People Faster

by Ryan Englin

Most small and mid-size companies lose their best candidates before they even get a chance to interview them. The big companies have employer brands, recruiter armies, and benefits packages that make yours look invisible. This book levels the playing field.

Hire Better People Faster walks you through the exact framework — from building an employer brand that attracts the right people, to running interviews that actually tell you something, to making offers that get accepted. No HR jargon. No theory. Just the playbook that works.

The ideas, tactics, and strategies in this book are not only tangible and actionable, but just unique enough to disrupt the way people typically think about recruiting and retaining employees.

The best hiring resource out there for business owners

The book is a must read. It's a practical guide that is filled with information that can be implemented instantly to turn around retention rates. As Englin says, it's not a staffing issue, it's a retention issue. Once you read this book, you won't be dealing with either of them. In fact, I'm giving it to a couple of business owners that I know as a gift.

What a great book!

If you are a struggling business that is hiring candidates who just are not working out like you had envisioned, this is worth the read in gold. The layout of the book was easy to read and there are checklists and points of questions throughout the book that bring the hiring vision to life. Culture is a big thing in blue collar industries, and you can tell Ryan is an expert in building up brands in the blue-collar segment.

This book was a big part of our company's updating of our recruiting, onboarding, and retaining new team members. We have 5 to 10 people on staff. Retention is up because we found a better-fit person to fill the roles. I highly recommend downloading the additional resources from his website. We used the worksheets to update our core, automate parts of the process, and improve interviewing and assessing the potential team members.

This book is fantastic! Before I even had time to read it I had an interview scheduled with a potential employee so I quickly read chapter 5. It gave me great ideas for the interview and I made a great hire already.
